Description Soil probe tip for heavy-duty chromoly steel soil probe. Soil probe tips are screw-on and easily replaceable. The screw-on thread sizes are different for stainless steel and heavy-duty chromoly steel soil probes. The dry (cutting) tip works well in dry, hard soil conditions. The cutting tip holds onto dry, powdery soil cores that otherwise would fall out of the soil probe. The wet (recessed lip) tip was specifically designed for wet, sticky clay soils and frozen soils.
